Orthopoxvirus titration using high resolution imaging. Cells are infected with serial dilution of VACV and stained with crystal violet. Following fixation, 24 well plate is scanned on Thermo Fisher Scientific CX7 Cellinsight.
Picture is a reconstruction of 374 fields, 3 picture /field (R/G/B) and displayed in real color. It took 5 min to acquire the 1122 images and reconstruct the full well. Is it useful in routine ? Of course not. Is it cool ? Indeed 🙂
